Belinda is a certified Equestrian Canada Competition Coach and the owner of Belle Wood. Belinda excels in the hunter, jumper, and equitation disciplines, driven by her deep passion for both good horsemanship and respect for the equestrian sport. Belinda is competitive and dedicated to ensuring success for both horse and rider. Belinda prioritizes ongoing education and is currently enhancing her skills under the guidance of Beth Murray, Grace Waynura, and Renee Conners. Belinda is usually accompanied by her three golden retrievers Daisy, Duchess and Duke who are often found greeting riders and watching lessons. Belinda Logan Melanie started riding at a young age and was instantly in love with the sport. Mel grew up grooming on the Trillium Circuit as well as competing on her own young horse she brought along. Melanie is an EC Certified Jump Instructor and has a degree in early childhood education. Melanie Colwell Ali has a deep passion for proper foundation both on the flat and in regards to rider's equitation. Ali believes in safety first and perfecting each step of the way before continuing onto the next. Ali currently coaches Belle Wood at the Beginners & Novice levels. When not at Belle Wood, you can find Ali with her gelding Tor learning and expanding on her dressage knowledge. Ali Sponagle-Keliher Christine started riding at the age of 8 and quickly was hooked with the sport. Throughout her teen years, Christine showed hunter/jumper divisions on the Trillium Circuit and began teaching new riders. Christine enjoys seeing her students progress both on the flat and over fences with a strong focus on proper equitation. Christine believes “practice makes progress “ and looks forward to coaching for many more years to come! Christine Curtain Alexis grew up riding at Belle Wood, originally in camp and lessons. Alexis fell in love with the sport and quickly purchased her first horse, Diva. Alexis then competed with Belinda for several years, moving up onto new horses to compete at larger heights. Alexis has a very successful show record in all three rings (hunter, jumper & equitation). Our Lil’ Riders sessions are part of Belle Wood’s commitment to the LTED “Active Start” pathway—helping children build foundational skills, body awareness, and emotional growth through age-appropriate activities in a welcoming environment. ✨ Skill Development Highlights • Safely approach and greet a horse or pony • Pat a pony under supervision • Handle a brush and learn basic grooming • Feed a treat safely using a bucket • Learn what horses eat, drink, and need to stay healthy • Demonstrate respect for animals and the environment • Enjoy a pony ride to finish the session! ⸻ 💫 Next Stage: Rising Riders Ages 4 – 7 years old | Private Session | $65 Available Tuesday & Friday Evenings & select Sunday Evenings For children ready to take their next step after Lil’ Riders, Rising Riders builds early riding and horsemanship skills in a structured, one-on-one format. Each 60-minute session is divided into four 15-minute blocks: • Grooming & Tacking Up • Learn to Ride (Lunge Lesson) — develop balance, position, and feel while being safely guided • Untacking & After-Care • Barn Etiquette & Learning Moments This personalized format gives young riders the chance to build trust, confidence, and independence while developing the foundation skills that will lead into Belle Wood’s full lesson program.
